A true story of a little girl who dreams of becoming a champion horseback rider, in spite of her handicap, which made walking difficult. What does her dad do when doctors say she will never walk? About the author:

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne spent her childhood in the tiny town of Easton, CT where her parents owned a riding school called Sweetbrier. She taught horseback riding for many years. She is a graduate of the Institute for Children's Literature and a member of Cambridge Who's Who. She has written one article for "Horsepower" magazine. Tails of Sweetbrier is her first book. Charlie the Horse is her second.


Deanie loves spending time with her husband, Francis, their sons, Brendan and Shane,and their dog, Elliott. Some of her other interests include music, singing, watching equestrian events and reading.
