Author Interview Mary
Author interview Mary Benson by Waulkmil MacFin.
MacFin: My name is Waulkmil MacFin and I am very pleased to interview Raven.
Raven, please tell a little about yourseelf.
Raven: My registered name is Shes Raven Pride after some very noted ancestors. However that is too fancy and I am just called Raven.I am a very pretty(have to be honest) golden sorrel Tennessee Walking Horse and even though not the color of a raven, am glad that Raven is my name.Just think, it could have been Blondie and I would have had to listen to those awful
blond jokes. I must add that I paint quite a picture with my long flowing tail and flaxen mane when I gait along.

MacFin: You paint quite a picture just standing here. So tell me a little about your person.
Raven: Mary Benson, my mom, loves to go on long trail rides through the apple orchards near our barn. Sometimes I even get to pick and eat an apple right from the tree.
MacFin: Eating under saddle. Does that mean you are the boss?
Raven: Of course I am the boss. I let Mary think she is,only because I enjoy our time together and she does what I like anyway.
MacFin: Are you in your Mom's book?
Raven: Important as I am, I am not in moms book because she wrote it before I was born. However she did include a last minute poem about Tennessee Walking Horses and how wonderful we are and I just know that I was her inspiration.
Macfin: Of course you would be, just standing here with you I am feeling inspired to write peorty. But back to business, what is your favorite book?
Raven: My favorite book is Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. Black Beauty was such a lovely sweet kind horse, a wonderful role model for all of us fillies and colts.
MacFin: That is Sharon's favorite book and she calls me her Blck Beauty. What was the best time you ever had with your Mom?
Raven: The best time I had was with my mom, Mary and her friend Janet, who had a hot palomino Tennessee Walker gelding. We went camping at Otter Creek in the Adirondacks and got to explore many trails. It was so much fun to be with another Tennessee Walker as we could really move along and catch each others
rhythm. We even got to splash in the river and we were allowed to munch on blueberries that were growing in a big field.. It was sooo heavenly.
MacFin: Sounds like Mary know how to have a good time. Is it difficult to live with an author?
I love living with an author. Because my mom likes to write about us, she has to take the time to learn everything she can about our needs and wants. That makes life very good for me.

Having read author interview Mary perhaps you would like to learn more about her book Blue Mountain Rider.
