Childrens Fantasy Books

By opening the cover of childrens fantasy books a fantasy world of magic appears and invites you in. Enter through this portal and you will be in a magical world where horses become unicorns.

A land, where, if you believe, you will see the fairies, elves and dragons, who not only live, but flourish here.

Shh. Quiet. Some of the beings who live here are shy, especially of humans. You do not want to startle them. Sit quietly, close your eyes and open your mind. Your journey is about to start.

Open your mind further, let it reach out, stretching. There, just beyond the meadow, at the edge of the woods.

Can you see her? A unicorn stands right at the edge of the woods. Do you feel her mind? She is searching your mind, to read your intentions. She wants to know if you will harm her herd.

You must have passed her search. She is stepping softly into the meadow.

The Lead mare is an opal color, her white coat is faintly tinged with colors which sparkle when the sun hits the highlights just right. Her horn, once golden, has silvered with age.

The band of mares, white with gold horns, follow her lead. The foals that frolic at the mares’ sides have pastel coats. The fillies are pink, the colts lavender. They have tiny gold nubs, the beginnings of horns in the middle of their foreheads.

Last to enter the meadow is the stallion. He follows behind the mares and foals so he can watch over them, ready to defend them if the need arises.

He is silver; his mane covers his neck and falls below it. His tail drags the ground behind him. His golden horn, longer and thicker then the mares, has fought and won many battles.

They're gone! You opened your eyes, didn’t you? Did you think you could see them better that way?

You must learn to see with your mind’s eye, for you are in the realm of dreamland stepping over into fantasyland.

by Mary Stanton

This was a good book. I like childrens fantasy books with unicorns best. I will read the rest of the series.
