Creede of Old Montana
by Stephen Bly
USA
Publisher: Center Point/Thorndike
"No one knew how Avery John Creede got the scar on his face.
No one except Avery and the one who did it. He never talked about it. Most who knew him figured the other person dead. Not the type of scar that makes you wince and turn your head, and never covered by a beard, it hung high on his cheek bone like a badge of honor."

Ellie's Crows
by MaryAnn Myers
USA
Ellie is a young woman, not so unlike any other young woman in today's world. She's in love, perhaps with the wrong man. She's self supporting, if always being a week behind counts. She's kind and considerate, unless crossed. She's true to herself and others. She is the best of best friends, is attentive to her grandmother, and she loves horses. What is different about Ellie, is the fact that she is followed through life by a flock of crows.

Book recommendations:
I love A Portion for Foxes, By Jane McIlvaine, McLary. set in Virginia Hunt country during the civil rights movement of the 1960's. It's an older book, copywrighted in 1972, but an excellent read.

Six To One Against
by Lyndon Stacey
Lyndon Stacey website
**** An entertaining read. For those of us who enjoy Dick Francis, this lady is running a close 2nd! Lyndon Stacey grabbed my interest on the very first sentence and held it until the end. It's fast paced, enjoyable and also has some education thrown in for good measure. The central character, Gideon Blake, is a combination horse/dog whisperer, private-eye, and good-ole-boy friend. I didn't want to put the book down and heartedly urged Gideon on to the breath-held conclusion.
