Horse Artwork

Diane's horse artwork includes painting and photography.

Diane Williams is unique in the horse world. She is a passionate equine painter with a fascination with photography. Inspired by her father, Norm, a Master of Photography, she received her first Brownie camera when she was six.

Diane prefers to photograph her equine subjects in the early morning or late afternoon light. She uses her digital camera as an extension of her brush, painting the light onto her subject. Rigorously schooled in classical photography techniques, she focuses on composition and the play of light. Diane combines her love of motion, color and light to reveal the playfulness of the horse.

Diane Williams has a Masters degree in Art Education from the University of British Columbia, Canada, and has been teaching art to high school students, illustrating children’s books, and painting for over twenty years. During that time she has continued to refine her artistic skills at the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Vancouver Academy of Art, and Sacramento’s School of Light and Color.
