Horse Safety and Large Animal Rescue

An impassioned author on horse safety, Michelle Staples, suggested this subject was a genre and should have it's own page.

Michelle Staples is a Horse Safety Specialist who lives on the north coast of California with husband, Michael, Bear the dog, a herd of chickens, and her two Standardbreds, Rory and Hunter. She has been involved with horses since she was an infant, when, according to her family, her first word was “horsie”.

Her accomplishments include:

* Save Your Horse! A Horse Owner's Guide to Large Animal Rescue, the first book to tackle the subject of removing a horse from entrapment

* EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)

* HAM Radio Operator

* Online speaker for EquineGuelph (U. of Guelph in Ontario, Canada)

* Developed and maintains an all-inclusive Large Animal Rescue website and monthly newsletter

* Developing a line of safety classes for people who can’t otherwise get training in their area
