Horse Tips

Horsemen are frequently looking for good horse tips to improve their relationship with their horses.

Tips and Tidbits for the Horselover

by Tena Bastion

Well now you can have both. An estimated 30 million people in the U.S. participate in equestrian activities, and millions more love horses from afar. Hundreds of intriguing fun facts, trivia, and horse tips, coupled with dozens of light-hearted illustrations, make this a one-of-a-kind gift book. Tips and Tidbits For The Horse Lover appeals to a broad audience-young and old, riders and dreamers. Light, humorous, and captivating, it includes unique horse care tips; horse-inspired quotes; little-known facts on horses in history, entertainment, equine sports, and blue laws; and compelling tidbits on equine behavior and medicine. This treasure trove of equine trivia, lore, and more is the perfect present for anyone fascinated by horses.

The Horses we Love The Lessons we Learn

-universal lessons about facing adversity, finding your niche in life, second chances, and more. Humorous or touching, uplifting or poignant, all of the twenty-two stories are wonderfully inspiring. The horses that we love can teach us so many lessons as we learn to deal with the important issues in our lives. Eight pages of color photos bring to life the horses we love and people from the stories, making this is a true tribute about the lessons we learn for beloved horses and a treasure for all horse-lovers. Tena Bastian (Swanton, OH) is known both as a Western poet and as an equestrian expert. She has presented seminars at equine expositions across the United States and been a featured speaker on The Horse Show with Rick Lamb and Pet Talk Radio. Tena and her husband own and stand their three-time World Qualifying Stallion on their ranch in Ohio.

****Teen to Adult: In "The Horses We Love, The Lessons We Learn," Tena has brought together heart-warming, as well as heart-rending, stories of some of the horses she's known along with the lessons she learned from each one. Tena Bastion is one fortunate lady, in my opinion. She lives her dream every day and considers each day a gift to treasure. There is only one thing I would have changed within this book. I would have loved to have been able to see a picture of the horse Tena was writing about at the beginning of each chapter/story. All else is impecably done. This is one non-fiction horse book I will read more than once.

Tena Bastion is the author of the poem "The Iron Horse" that is within the print, done by Deborah R. Hershey, sold by Personal Ponies, Ltd. She is a well-known Western Poet and Clinician."
