The Adventures Of Penny The Mustang Pony

The Rescue

by Barbara Knight

USA

Penny is a mustang pony living in the mid-1800's. She has some of the same types of problems that young people face today. The first book in a series of seven is called "The Rescue." In The Rescue, Penny must decide if she should follow her peers into a dangerous situation or do what her parents tell her to do.

The second book called "The Cowboys." In The Cowboys, Penny finds out why cowboys are in the mustangs meadow and at the same time puts herself in danger.

The third book called "The Storm." In The Storm, Penny and her mother, Sassy, face the hazards of a raging river during a mighty storm. Because of Penny's fears they may both become victims of the storm.

The fourth book called "The Lost Boy." In The Lost Boy, Penny finds a lost boy and with her parent's help they manage to return him to his family.

This series of books was written for children 6-10 and for adults reading to younger children. When creating The Adventures of Penny, the author wanted the books to have a good moral message and be something children would really enjoy reading.

Each book has an educational page in the back as well as a quiz. These books are good to use in home schooling or a class room. They are beautifully illustrated by Wink Burgess
