When Cody finds himself caught up in a brutal battle between a posse bent on wiping out the natives who are determined to fight for their way of life, the compassionate spirit Cody has shown to the wild horses of the open range is repaid by a mare who comes to his rescue in a thrilling defense.

Cody is faced with the toughest decision he'll ever make in the riveting conclusion. An emotional, tender tale of sacrifice, tragedy, forgiveness, and the eternal bond between horse and master.

I read Cody evenings after sundown. I don't need to tell you how Cody sent me back to the days of my first horse, and nearly had me bawling. Great ending.
